The bell rings out, the hallways hum and stir,
But in the office, life is just a blur.
A scraped-up knee, a parent’s call,
The school’s conductor through it all.
They find the missing bus, the misplaced coat,
And draft the morning’s urgent weekly note.
With Band-Aids, passes, and a steady smile,
They’ve seen a thousand faces in every file.
From lunchroom counts to lots of copier runs,
They handle crises till the day is done.
The gentle heart, the firm and helping hand,
The one who keeps the school across the land.
The unsung hero of the schoolhouse halls,
Who answers every time the future calls.
Thank you to our DHS Administrative Assistants: Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Heather. We appreciate all you do to keep things going around here! Have the best day!

It is testing season in Arkansas. DeWitt High School students will take end of course ATLAS exams starting next Tuesday. They are tested at the end of their coursework in Algebra I, Biology, English 9, English 10, and Geometry.
We KNOW that our students have learned so much this year! Help support them and us by:
Making sure they get a good night's rest the night before testing.
Make sure they are at school and on time. Please avoid appointments on these dates.
Encourage them to eat well, including making sure they have breakfast before testing.
Make sure they charge their Chromebook FULLY each night before testing.
Encourage them to TRY their BEST and WORK HARD!
Encourage them to score a 3 or 4 (grade level or above) on their tests!
It's time for them to shine and show what their teachers have taught them to do!
***Mrs. Rachel is planning a day where they will have a Dragon Period Break with a treat to celebrate working hard, being present, trying to do their tests, using the time allowed to make sure they worked to the best of their ability.
Thank you parents for your support. DHS Students: We believe in you! Time to show what you know!

Today, a group of almost 70 DHS students attended a college tour to A-State in Jonesboro. This trip was sponsored by our partner, Gear UP / PCC U of A Helena. This Gear UP grant allows schools to expose students to colleges and provide them tools to be ready to be successful should college be their next path in life.
Our students had the best time. We cannot thank Gear UP, the A-State Staff, our Arkansas Coaches tour bus drivers, and the Chick-Fil-A delivery staff enough for the opportunity to see this amazing campus and be so well taken care of. Thanks Mr. Dupuy and Mrs. Laura Beth for going with Mrs. Rachel and the DHS students!!
This truly was a great day, and our students represented DeWitt High School with great DRAGON PRIDE!

Yesterday, some DHS students were able to attend Draft Day 2026 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. They, along with other high school JR and SR students from surrounding schools, were able to tour exhibits and visit with employers in job fields of all kinds.
We are thankful for the Be Pro Be Proud Staff and their dedication to help expose Arkansas high school students to options that they can use to decide if they might want to ENROLL in a college, ENLIST in a branch of the US Armed Forces, or EMPLOY at a job right out of school. Thank you for hosting DeWitt High School and exposing us to so many options for the next step in our student's future!
