After completing a unit on investments in Financial Management, students participated in The Stock Market Game. They competed against students from all over the state for 11 weeks. Regularly students would check their stocks and buy or sell as needed. One group, Emma Sullivan, Jade Midkiff, Ariel Jimenez and Alexia Buonantuono, placed 15 in the state. Students learned a lot about the bear and bull markets and how to diversify their portfolios. Way to go, kids!!

Thank you to Cliff Crouse, First Trust Home Loans, and Jeremy & Tina Cox, Cox Hometown Realty, for speaking to Mrs. Ulrich's Family and Consumer Science class and Mrs. Whiting's Financial Management class about the home buying process. Students learned the importance of having a good credit score, steady income, interest rates and down payments when buying a home. We are very appreciative to community members who are willing to share their knowledge with our students.

Please join us in welcoming Coach McKenzie Morris! Coach Morris is joining the DeWitt Dragonettes as the new Dragonettes Basketball Head Coach. We can't wait to see the Dragonettes in action under her leadership next year!

DHS students have enjoyed working with clay. Some of them have even perfected the art of using the wheel to create things like bowls and mugs. The next step will be to clean up the edges of their pieces and glaze them before going to the kiln for firing. Their creations will live on forever and they will always remember the fun they had in Mrs. Henderson's class.
