Now that the school year is in full swing we wanted to remind everyone that breakfast is served every morning in the DES Cafeteria for those who wish to eat breakfast.
If your child is a bus rider and they want to eat breakfast, please remind them to go directly to the cafeteria when they get off of the bus to eat breakfast before going to their classroom.
If your child is a car rider, and your child wishes to eat breakfast, please try to drop them off around 7:40 and have them go directly to the cafeteria to eat breakfast before going to their room. Dropping them off around 7:40 will ensure they have enough time to eat and get to their classroom before it is time for classes to begin.
DES in conjunction with the Arkansas County Health Unit will have a Flu Shot Clinic at DES on Wednesday October 5th, 2022. Flu shot forms have been sent home. If you would like your child to receive their flu shot during the clinic at DES, fill out the form and return it to school with your child. If you have any question call the office at 870-946-4651.
Each child that gets a Flu Shot next Wednesday will also receive a FREE Kinsa Smart Thermometer (while supplies last).

Scientists in Mrs Teesa’s 4th grade using data to draw conclusions.
On Friday September 23rd, the PTO will be selling Dragon Tattoos from 7:40 am - 8:00 am in Mrs. Meagan Padgett's room in the 2-3 Hallway. Tattoos will be 50 cents each.
Any items collected for this service project can be dropped off in the box outside of Mrs. Meagan Padgett's GT Room. (Drink carries can be like the ones you get from sonic or other fast food restaurants).
Just a reminder to ALL 4th and 5th Graders - DES Camp Out Applications are due to Mrs. Lindsay Beaton by Monday September 26, 2022! All applicants will be notified by Friday October 7th, 2022 if they were or were not selected to attend this years camp out.
Fall at DES means it is time to get ready for the DES 4th & 5th Grade Family Camp Out! The students have started their outdoor unit in PE and information packets and letters about the DES Camp Out went home last week! If your child would like the opportunity to attend the camp out, you will both need to fill out the application form and return it to Mrs. Lindsay Beaton at DES. There is an application form attached to the information letter that needs to be returned for the chance to attend the campout. Please remember, both the student and the parent/guardian need to fill out the form. If you student has lost their form their classroom teacher will have extras or they can get one in the DES office.

Running Club Parent Meeting:
If you were unable to attend last nights Running Club Parent meeting and your child would like to be in Running Club, you will need to email Mrs. Lindsay Beaton - lbeaton@dewittdragons.net, or Mrs. Alesha Jones - ajones@dewittdragons.net, to set up a time to pick up your paperwork, and go over the information you missed at the meeting on Tuesday night. You have until Monday September 19th, as running club begins Tuesday September 20th.
Just a quick reminder that Grandparents/Grandfriends Day Breakfast forms are due back at school tomorrow. It would be ideal that money is included when you return the form, but money can also be paid on that day if needed. You will just stop at the table and pay.
For a Grandparent/Grandfriend to be able to eat with their student, a form must be turned in tomorrow so we have an accurate headcount for food preparation.
The come and go Grandparents/Grandfriends Breakfast for Grades 3-5 will be September 15th from 7:30-8:30, and Grades K-2 will be September 16th from 7:30-8:30.
