School Zone & Car Line Reminders:
1) There are TWO cross walks at DES, one in the middle of the drive and one near the end by the Preschool Entrance. Please make sure that you are driving slowly and STOPPING for pedestrians in the crosswalk.
2) Schools zones are cell phone free by law. Please do not be on your cell phone while driving on school grounds.

Due to Running Club volunteers being out, running club will not meet today. We will also not meet next week. We will start back after winter break!

Mrs. Brittany’s Class had a big day in kindergarten last Friday! Mrs. Heidi was our first mystery reader and read us Sneezy the Snowman. We also enjoyed flashlight reading Friday!




On Friday December 2, 2022, forty one students from the 5th grade and thirty five students from the 4th grade competed in Grade Level Spelling Bees to see who would move on to compete in the School Spelling Bee on Friday December 9th at 9:00 am.
The top twelve 4th Graders to move on to the DES Spelling Bee are: Anna Claire Beaton, Aydan Branham, Azsia Clark, Averi Cox, Nehemiah Doaty, Corbin Hudson, Kaiden Johnson, Camree Lamb, Emma McCoy, Arden Relyea, Allyn Smith and Jack Yoes.
The top twelve 5th Graders to move on to the DES Spelling Bee are: Beau Barnett, Austin Cupples, Dawsen Dupuy, Waylon Fisher, Collyns Green, Henslee Henderson, Kailyn Hickman, Terrance Mason, Kaniya O'Donell, Zach Partain, Chevy Rogers and Cheyenne Young.
Family & Friends are invited to come and watch the spelling bee competition on Friday December 9th, 2022 at 9:00 am in the DES Cafeteria.
The Arkansas County Extension Office is bringing the Farm to You exhibit to DES next week (13th & 14th). You may remember this exhibit when it was named the “Body Walk”. The students loved this exhibit and are excited to tour it again! We are in need of some parent volunteers to help in the stations.
We need 7 volunteers Tuesday, December 13th, and
8 volunteers Wednesday, December 14th.

DES has collected 1222 canned goods and non-perishable items so far during our food drive for the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry.
Our school goal this year is 5000 items and we will be collecting donations until December 15th!
