This selection of student artwork was inspired by the work of American artist Jasper John’s, a Korean War veteran and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Student artists were allowed to create their own interpretations of the U.S. flag using paper, glue, and oil pastels.




DES will be collecting canned goods and non perishable items for the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry in DeWitt from November 14th through December 15th. Our school goal is 5,000 items! Students can bring items to school anytime during those dates. We will keep a running total of items and give updates throughout our collection time period.

Please join us for the 4th Grade Musical, American Heart, onNovember 11th , 2022 at 9:00 am in the DES Cafeteria. Veterans are invited to enjoy cookies and punch in the DES Library before the performance.

Picture Retake Day is Thursday November 10th, 2022 at DES.
If your student needs picture retakes they may get a new form from the DES Office or you can follow the directions below to purchase online.
If they want both packages, they can just send or place another order for makeup day. If they do not want both packages, they need to return their picture order.

If your student received a Kinsa Thermometer at the Flu Shot Clinic at DES, it is time to set them up!
Here is a step by step video to help you out with set up. Once a majority of the thermometers we handed out are linked to our school, we will be able to receive another shipment to hand out to even more families!

Students in Ms. Quartisha's 3rd Grade class flew into the week studying prepositions. They created their model airplanes and then soared around the room. They were to fly the airplane around the classroom and record their flights using prepositions! They had a blast!

Thank you DeWitt PTO for the awesome spread of food you provided for Parent Teacher Conferences tonight!


The DeWitt ABC Preschool program received a visit from Mr. Jacolby Tow, a Journeyman lineman with Entergy of Arkansas, during their Community Helpers unit. The children enjoyed learning all about what Mr. Tow does and even got to see the bucket truck in action. Thank you so much Mr. Tow!!
