Reminder that school will be dismissed early for the remainder of the week, starting today. 1:10 for car riders & 1:15 for bus riders.
Friday students can leave after testing at 10:35 if they have returned their slip to let us know who will be picking them up in the car line.
School will be closed for the holiday break December 20-January 2. We will be back on January 3.

Attached you will find the Semester Test Schedule. Students were sent home with a copy today.
If your child is going to be leaving after their 8th period test at 10:35 on Friday, December 17, they will need to return the note stating who they will be going home with. Please complete the note and return to the office by Thursday.
Students leaving at 10:35 after testing on Friday will go out front and be picked up like we do car rider pick up. Please form a 2 lane line, and we will assist them to their cars.

Friday, December 10 is the DMS STUCO Talent Show. Students are encouraged to bring gift wrap or gift bags to donate to the DMS FCCLA service project of buying gifts for the residents of Westhaven. Our students are purchasing Christmas gifts for the residents, and the gift wrap would be used to wrap the presents.
The 7th grade basketball jamboree at Drew Central scheduled for this Saturday, December 11, has been CANCELLED.

Dear DMS Parents & Guardians:
It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On December 3rd, Kyler Counce, an 8th grade student was in an accident in which he lost his life. This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students.
On Monday, December 6th, we will have counselors available for any student who may need or want help or any type of assistance surrounding this loss. If you need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our counselor, Courtny Barnett at 870-946-3814, or cbarnett@dewittdragons.net.

Next week, DMS will conduct a Chromebook check for all of our students. Please be sure that your student brings their Chromebook & charger to school on that day. Remember, if they have any issues with their devices, they should report it to our staff so that we can help them find a solution to their technical problems.

Ms. Seamon’s blocked classes developed memes using vocabulary words from The Giver. Students had to choose a vocabulary word and an image to go with that word. They then had to write a humorous caption that went along with the picture and demonstrated the meaning of the word.
Please enjoy some of their memes. Vocabulary & word study is an important part of building a student's comprehension skills. The students had a fun time with this activity.
DMS has that SPIRIT! As our football season comes to a close, we are proud of all of our students...football players, cheerleaders, & band members. This season was so much fun! Now on to basketball season! GO DRAGONS!
