DMS Parents:
Just a reminder that Semester Tests begin today. You can see the full semester test schedule on our Facebook page or our website: www.dewittdragons.net.
School will dismiss early Mon.-Wed. this week. 1:10 for car riders and 1:15 for bus riders. Thursday will be a make-up test day and only students who aren't finished testing will need to attend.
8th grade Career development students have been researching careers all semester. They wrote Children's books based on a selected career. These stories included education requirements, skills, tasks and salary information about their chosen career and this week, some of the books were picked to read to K-2 students at DES. Student's created the stories, designed the illustrations and edited their text as well as practicing oral communication skills while reading them.
This week, DMS 8th graders experienced “Get Real-Here’s the Deal,” a personal finance simulation. They learned what it was like to be the primary source of household income, paying taxes, managing a checking account and paying bills. They were faced with real everyday hard decisions and some had to sacrifice when the money was gone. By the end of the exhibit, most kids looked weary. (A familiar feeling for their parents and caregivers, I'm sure) Thanks to our amazing volunteers, Tim Edmondson and Whitney Meadors, our teachers, and to Alta Lockley and her crew from the cooperative extension office who made this happened. If you have an 8th grader, please ask them about their experience. They cannot stop talking about it! -Mrs. Fisher
Students:
Tomorrow will be check out day for students are exempt from ALL tests. You should return all school issued items: Chromebooks & chargers, hotspots, library books, text books, etc.
Any student who still have items not checked back in to the school will not be given their exemption letters until all things are turned in and they are fully checked out.
Students who still have to take semester tests will check out and return all items when they are done with their tests. They should plan to have these items with them on the day of their last test.
DMS Spring Fling 2022 was an awesome night! Our students had the best time. Thanks to all our Stuco students and our DMS Stuco sponsor, Mrs. Misty Everett for all of your amazing works to pull the dance off. We are appreciative of our teacher and parent volunteers as well. We are blessed with the best.

DMS Spring Semester Test Schedule has been set. Students will receive a letter stating which classes they are exempt from and which classes they must test in on FRIDAY, MAY 20. A copy of the scheduled testing days and times is also posted to our Facebook Page and our website.
Students who will be exempt from all tests may start checking in Chromebooks and turning in school materials on Friday, May 20.
Here’s a huge shoutout to our Jr Trap team for qualifying for state!! They finished 13th out of 100+ teams! Way to go!!

Friday Night! Here are the details for the DMS Annual Spring Fling Dance. Students who are eligible to attend will receive a ticket that they must present to enter.
Tammy P. Photography will be on hand to take photos as well. They will be posted to her website and you can purchase them online.
DMS 8th Graders & Parents: Don't forget about the Incoming Freshman Informational Meeting on Wednesday night, May 11, in the DHS Cafeteria at 5:00 p.m. Please plan to come and ask any questions you might have about your student and their upcoming high school journey.
Also, your students were given a PCC U of A Concurrent Application for Admission form. You should fill out this form and have your student return it to our offices by the end of the week (May 13). This will be put on file to ensure that if your child takes a class for concurrent credit the high school and PCC have the proper documentation.

DMS Students had a great STUCO Day 2022. Thanks to Mrs. Misty, our DMS Student Council, our parent volunteers, and our teachers and students for a great day.
Teacher Appreciation Week was so well celebrated at DMS and all throughout our schools here in DeWitt.
We enjoyed Taco Bar Lunch and a Desert Bar from our DeWitt PTA. We had many treats brought in from parents, families, and others throughout the community. Staff enjoyed popcorn, breakfast day, and a snack day from the DMS Office Crew. We ended the week with Sonic Drinks from our local Sonic and Milliken Farms.
DMS School Family wants to thank you all for the love and appreciation showered on our staff this week. We truly live in the best community and work for an amazing school district and school with the BEST students around.
DMS 8th Graders and their parents will have the opportunity to attend an informative meeting about their upcoming Freshman year at DHS. The meeting will be Wednesday, May 11 at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
