EASTCON25 Team spent the last three days at EAST conference. Each student was able to represent DeWitt High School and tell other schools about our EAST program. Shout out to DHS Senior, Trey Poole, who has represented EAST for the past four years! It won't be the same without him! #eastcon25

Just a reminder that DHS is a closed campus. If students leave, they need a doctor's note to return for the day. This is stated in the DHS Handbook. Students can not sign out to go get lunch and then come back and sign in.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our learning environment safe and orderly.

The DHS Quiz Bowl Team traveled to Rison today to compete in the 3A Regional Tournament. Although we had only 3 players and a score keeper that could make it today, we held our own and learned so much!! We look forward to next year!!

Mrs. Shook's 10th grade honors class is currently reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. They researched aspects of England’s Regency Era Ball scene. Student committees were formed and given the task to replicate invitations, decor, attire, ballroom dances, and refreshments from the Regency Era.
The menu consisted of meringue cookies, sponge cake, and punch fitting for the time period. They learned and performed dances that were often enjoyed at such balls. Students were so proud of the invitations that they made.
They sent one invite to Mrs. Mitchell, but she was away at a professional development. Mrs. Shook made sure to send Mrs. Mitchell a video of the student performing their dances. It was really a treat to get that video of everyone having so much fun!
A great time was had by all the DHS Royals and they loved making the text relevant and seeing the words come to life in their very own classroom!
