A reminder from our DMS Nurse, Mrs. LeighAnn: Your student should have received a letter if they are in need of updating their immunizations. Please take this time to schedule your shots if needed, and bring your immunization record by the 1st day of school! 6th Graders: required to have TDap Vaccination, after turning 11 years old 7th Graders: required to have MCV4 Vaccination.

Open House Information for DMS:

Once again, our DeWitt School District Board of Directors voted to provide school supplies to ALL students in the district for the 2021-2022 School Year. Students will need to bring their own backpack, but other than that, all supplies ARE AT NO COST TO THE PARENTS!!! We will pass out all supplies to students on the first day of school. Thank you DeWitt School District Board of Directors for this awesome blessing!

DJH Cheerleaders attend camp this past weekend. They represented their squad and our school very well. Go Dragons!

DMS Students Remember: Today is checkout for ALL virtual students. Please come by 2:00, and bring all school property to checkout. ALL students who haven't returned Chromebooks, hotspots, cords, library books, etc. need to do so. We will mail your report cards when you are completely checked out. DMS: If your child takes medication at school, Mrs. LeighAnn needs all medicine picked up by FRIDAY morning. Thank you.

DMS Students & Families: Today begins our Semester Testing for the 2nd Semester. Remember, we will dismiss TODAY, WEDNESDAY, & THURSDAY at 1:15 p.m. Our testing schedule can be found at our school website: www.dewittdragons.net or on our Facebook page.

DMS Students: Exemption Notices & Checkout will begin today for In-Person Learners. Students should attend today & Monday so that we can get them all checked out. Make sure that you bring your Chromebooks, Chargers, Hotspots, & anything else belonging to the school to turn in.

Please see the attached photos for dates & times for our semester tests. We will let students know if they are exempt on this Friday, May 21. Students should bring all Chromebooks, chargers, library books & other materials that day. If they are exempt, they will have to turn all of these items in and be checked out to receive their exemption letter.

Girls going into 7th grade through 12th grade are invited to participate in the YES Program Summer Program. We've attached an overview letter, but if you and your child would like to sign up, have them see Mrs. Rachel and she will print the registration forms for you to complete and return to the address stated in the letter. Thank you!

We have selected some students who we feel could benefit from working on essential literacy & math skills while also having fun with STEM and science experiments. Some of your students may have came home with a summer school letter inviting them to join us throughout the month of June. We need you parents to read this letter, and we would like you to sign your child up. Please fill out the forms attached and return to the school. Students who were invited to attend summer school can return their letter to the office by May 21 to be entered in for a prize drawing! We will honor our students with an assembly for their 1st semester grades and for 3rd nine week grades. Please see the flyer attached for times. The assemblies will all be on Monday, May 17 in the DHS Cafeteria. Parents are welcome to attend. All grade levels will include Beta Club inductions during their assembly times. 8th Grade students will tour the high school after their assemblies. This is a teacher/student guided tour. Students should plan to stay the remainder of the school day after each assembly because we are still counting attendance, and this might affect their exemption status for semester tests.

Spring Fling Reminders: Tonight is our STUCO Spring Fling Dance. It will be in the aux. gym from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Students must be picked up by 10. Students: Be sure to bring your ticket with you! Students will enter through the east doors (nearest the field house). Each student will sign in. At the end of the night, we ask that parents/guardians enter the same doors to sign their child out. If your child is leaving with someone other than their parent, you will need to give us a handwritten note indicating who will pick them up. Students: Please wear comfy shoes and come ready to have fun! Tennis shoes or slide on sandals might be a good idea. If you are wearing heals or any shoes that might scuff the gym floor, you will need to take them off when on the floor. Not only is it Teacher Appreciation Week, but it's Nurse Appreciation Week as well. Today is Nurse's Day! We are blessed to have our school nurse, Mrs. LeighAnn. She makes all of our hurts feel better, and she is one big DRAGON FAN! Thanks for all you do for us.

This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week!! We are so thankful and blessed with the gift of teachers!! May they feel extra love this week!

Progress reports will go out today for all DMS Students. There will be a ticket attached to the report for students who will be eligible to attend the Spring Fling next Friday, May 7. Please keep this ticket as it will be the way they are allowed to enter the dance. For any questions or for more information, contact the office or your child's teacher. Thank you.

Did you know that today is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day? We are thankful for all of our drivers who make sure that each student arrives to school and back home safely each day.
