Students in Ms. Quartisha's 3rd Grade class flew into the week studying prepositions. They created their model airplanes and then soared around the room. They were to fly the airplane around the classroom and record their flights using prepositions! They had a blast!

Have you noticed the new flower beds at the front of DES? We think they are beautiful! Next time you see a member of Girl Scout Troop 1313 be sure to thank them for helping make our school beautiful!
Before school started this year, Girl Scout Troop 1313 completely overhauled our front flower beds to create a Perennial Pollinator Flower Bed. Not only do the new flowers make our school look inviting, but they are helping our environment as well!
This project was the Bronze Award Project for Kaden Pace and Kailyn Hickman and they were assisted by their Troop Leaders, Troop Members and Troop Families. This project was also funded by a grant from America's Farmers Grow Communities program. Troop 1313 was nominated by local farmer Jared Holzhauer!
Once again, thank you Troop 1313 for giving our school a beautiful Glow Up!

Now that the school year is in full swing we wanted to remind everyone that breakfast is served every morning in the DES Cafeteria for those who wish to eat breakfast.
If your child is a bus rider and they want to eat breakfast, please remind them to go directly to the cafeteria when they get off of the bus to eat breakfast before going to their classroom.
If your child is a car rider, and your child wishes to eat breakfast, please try to drop them off around 7:40 and have them go directly to the cafeteria to eat breakfast before going to their room. Dropping them off around 7:40 will ensure they have enough time to eat and get to their classroom before it is time for classes to begin.

DES in conjunction with the Arkansas County Health Unit will have a Flu Shot Clinic at DES on Wednesday October 5th, 2022. Flu shot forms have been sent home.
