A small art contest was held during the 81st annual Coon Supper in Gillett. Thirty pieces of artwork from DeWitt Elementary's third, fourth, and fifth grade artists were on display as over 600 guests filed into the Gillett gym for the event which is held each January as a fundraiser for the Farmers and Businessmen's Club.
Guests scanned a QR code using their mobile phones and voted for their favorite and most creative "coon". Fourth grader Amelia Richter's artwork was chosen as the winning piece. Richter received a prize of art supplies and will be recognized at next year's Coon Supper.
