Mrs. Stephanie Cody will be hosting a family math night for 5th grade parents. This math night will be covering decimals. Monday, April 1st at 6:00 in Mrs. Stephanie's room at DeWitt Elementary School.

To celebrate Kindness Week, DeWitt Elementary’s young artists created large wooden initials for the school grounds. The letters “D.E.S” were hand-painted by students in art class with the help of several parents and community volunteers. Students also created a canvas which will be permanently installed inside the building.
“One way to show kindness is to collaborate,” said art teacher Joli Holzhauer. “When we work together, we can create an amazing gift for our school. Students also gain a sense of accomplishment when they see their artwork on display in front of the building.”
The following people deserve special thanks: Dana Horton for spending many hours with the young artists, Jared Holzhauer for building and transporting the letters, and all the volunteers who worked with students during the project.

1ST GRADE and 4TH GRADE:
We would like to send out a friendly reminder that there is only one more week left to order your child's DES Musical T-Shirt. This year's show promises to be like none other, and it would be wonderful if we could all come together to have a unified look during our performance at DES.
In addition, we will be accepting donations towards buying shirts for those who are not able to ensure every student receives one. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated.
T-Shirts are $15 each. When sending money, please include your child's name and homeroom teacher.
Thank you!

Mrs. Stephanie Cody will be hosting a family math night for 5th grade parents. In class, students are learning how to divide multi-digit numbers using partial quotients. Mrs. Stephanie has had many questions from parents wanting to help their students, so she would like to invite parents to join her that night so she may explain the process to solve these problems so that parents will be able to help their student at home. Please join her Monday, Feb. 26th at 6:00pm. If you have any questions you may contact Mrs. Stephanie at scody@dewittdragons.net
Correction: The note that went home with students contained the wrong date. The Math Night will be February 26th.

Happy School Counselors Week to our very own, Mrs. Alesha Jones! We are blessed with the best! You can always find her helping and encouraging our students at DES. Outside of school, you can find her encouraging her boys on the ballfield and wherever else her family time takes her. Thank you for all you do for DES!

Kindness Week Volunteers Needed

During Kindness Week this year, we want our actions to speak louder than our outfits. Instead of dress up days, this year we will be collecting food items for the DES Backpack Program. This isn't a competition, but a way to show kindness to others in our school. Helping our students have a full belly is a great way to spread kindness at DES.
Students may bring their items anytime during kindness week and give them to their homeroom teacher to be added to the other items collected during kindness week.
If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Alesha Jones at DES.
