We want to give a BIG Thank You to the Masons of DeWitt Lodge # 343 for treating us to donuts this morning at DES! We appreciate the sweet treat on this Tuesday morning!

Every year, several times a year, the teachers at DES are treated to a huge candy jar, filled by Mrs. Mary Nell Whitmore. She always knows JUST the right time that we will need an extra dose of love and sugar!
We want to say THANK YOU for all you have done and all you continue to do for DES! We love you!

The first week of school has flown by and tomorrow will be our first Friday of the school year! Below are just a few reminders that help us keep things running smoothly at DES:
1) Please do not drop off your child before 7:30. There are no adults on duty to ensure safety.
2) Please do not forget to yield to Pre-K parents and students at the crosswalk.
3) Please remember that school zones are cell phone free zones while driving.
4) If you arrive after 8:05 you must come into the office and sign your child in.
5) Please call before 1:30 for any transportation changes.
Thank you for helping making DES a safe and wonderful place for our students!

Homework Folder Update:
We are currently waiting on our homework folder order to arrive. Once they have arrived, we will send the folder home with each student who has already purchased one, but has yet to receive it.

We would like to thank Unity Baptist Church DeWitt, First Baptist Church DeWitt and First United Methodist Church DeWitt for providing the teachers with lunches last week! Your thoughtfulness and consideration was very much appreciated!
We would also like to thank the Almyra Methodist Church and First Baptist Church Almyra for providing a coffee bar at DES last week! You kept us caffeinated and energized!

On the FIRST day of school, KINDERGARTEN parents may walk their child into the building and to their classroom. We understand that this is a big and new step in our Kindergarten families lives!
First - Fifth grade students are now pro's at getting into the school, so these families will follow normal drop off procedures on Monday morning. They get to model how to be a big kid to all of our new Kindergarten students!
After the FIRST DAY, ALL students, K-5, will need to follow normal drop off procedures. We will have plenty of adults inside the building helping kids get to their correct classrooms as well.
We can't wait to see everyone on Monday!

School Supply Information
School supplies have been provided for each student at DES. Families are only responsible for providing the following for each student:
- All students will need a homework folder. These can be purchased at DES for $1.50 each. If you did not purchase one at Open House you can send money for your student to purchase one next week.
- Kindergarten students will need a nap mat
If you have any questions call the DES Office at 870-946-4651

Please follow the traffic map for drop off and pick up at DES. The lines are color coded by grade. The key for the color code is on the left. If you have children in multiple grades at DES, you will pick up and drop off in the line that is in accordance with the oldest students grade level.

I could not do it without you ❤️!

Thank you Dr Hill, Matthew Green and Jim Craig for being excellent sports and hanging out with us today at DES!
