Just a reminder, if you are coming to one of the Grandparent's Day Breakfasts this week you will need to park in the FRONT parking lot only and come through the front doors. Breakfast will be come and go in the cafeteria from 7:30 - 8:30.

Picture Day at DES will be Thursday September 29th, 2022. More information and packets will be coming home in the near future!
On Friday September 9th, the PTO will be selling Dragon Tattoo's from 7:40 am - 8:00 am in Mrs. Meagan Padgett's room in the 2-3 Hallway. Tattoo's will be 50 cents each.
Running Club Parent Meeting:
If you were unable to attend last nights Running Club Parent meeting and your child would like to be in Running Club, you will need to email Mrs. Lindsay Beaton - lbeaton@dewittdragons.net, or Mrs. Alesha Jones - ajones@dewittdragons.net, to set up a time to pick up your paperwork, and go over the information you missed at the meeting on Tuesday night. You have until Monday September 19th, as running club begins Tuesday September 20th.
Just a quick reminder that Grandparents/Grandfriends Day Breakfast forms are due back at school tomorrow. It would be ideal that money is included when you return the form, but money can also be paid on that day if needed. You will just stop at the table and pay.
For a Grandparent/Grandfriend to be able to eat with their student, a form must be turned in tomorrow so we have an accurate headcount for food preparation.
The come and go Grandparents/Grandfriends Breakfast for Grades 3-5 will be September 15th from 7:30-8:30, and Grades K-2 will be September 16th from 7:30-8:30.

Just a reminder, if your 2nd - 5th Grader is interested in joining the DES Running Club there is a mandatory parent/caregiver meeting TONIGHT at 6:00 pm in the DES Cafeteria. Students may attend as well.
If you cannot attend the meeting please call DES and leave a message for Mrs. Lindsay Beaton or Mrs. Alesha Jones on Wednesday.

DES Dragon Runners Running Club will begin this month! Our DES Running Club is open to all 2nd - 5th grade students! Information letters were sent home today with the students and there is a MANDATORY parent meeting on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the DES Cafeteria. All students participating must have a parent/guardian attend this meeting. Students may attend as well, but are not required.
If you have any questions, you may call DES (870-946-4651) and leave a message for Mrs. Lindsay Beaton or Mrs. Alesha Jones and they will get back in touch with you as soon as they can.
We can't wait to begin running again this year!
Join us to celebrate our Grandparents & Grandfriends!!! On September 15th & 16th we will be celebrating with a breakfast! Grandparents & Grandfriends are invited to come and eat morning breakfast before school with their student(s). Students in Grades 3rd, 4th & 5th will celebrate on September 15th and students in Grades Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd will celebrate on September 16th. On both days breakfast will be served from 7:30 - 8:30 in the DES Cafeteria, and will be come and go. All visitors will need to park in the FRONT parking lot at DES on this day. The cost will be $2.50 for each Grandparent/Grandfriend that attends breakfast with the student. While money can be paid at the door, the morning will run much smoother if one was to pay ahead of time. Each child had a form sent home on Wednesday that can be filled out and returned with payment anytime before the day of the breakfast. DES Flag & Fire Marshals
The Fire and Flag Marshalls are chosen by their homeroom teachers each semester. These students work hard everyday in class and set a good example for all the students in the building to look up to. We are so excited to showcase our 2022 Fall Semester Flag (4th Grade) and Fire (5th Grade) Marshalls!
All schools in the DeWitt School District will be closed on Monday September 5, 2022, in observance of Labor Day. Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday September 6, 2022.

Each 4th Grade student will receive a brochure this week to share with their family that contains more information about the annual 4th Grade Pass.

Parents/Caregivers: A DES t-shirt form will be coming home with your child TODAY. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, for your child and/or yourself, please send the order form and money in an envelope with your child's name on it. If you previously purchased a shirt at Open House, you do not need to fill out another form. The deadline to order t-shirts is Friday, September 2nd. Thank you so much for your support!!
