DES Virtual Student Picture Day - 1:00 pm - September 23, 2020
If DES virtual students wish to have their school picture made they will need to come at 1:00pm to DES on Wednesday September 23, 2020.
Parents will park in the back parking lot area and enter through the cafeteria doors.

Next week DES will be participating in dress up days in celebration of DeWitt Homecoming! We hope everyone will join in the festivities next week!

Once again, this is only for those students who are enrolled in Dragon Academy at DES
DeWitt Elementary School will be closed on Monday September 7, 2020 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday September 8, 2020.
DeWitt School District will dismiss at 1:00pm today at our elementary schools and at 1:15pm at DMS and DHS due to the possibility of damaging winds and heavy rain during our normal dismissal times.
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday August 25, 2020, 4th and 5th grade car riders will be dropped off and picked up in the back car line. An updated map is being posted as well to show the newest updates.
Please be patient with us as we work out the kinks of the new year. Starting tomorrow morning the 4th & 5th Grade Car Riders will be dropped off in the back car line instead of the front car line. This should help ease the morning congestion of the drop off line. Please remember to not pass any busses in the line, as this is their drop of area as well.
DES Staff would like to send a BIG Thank You to Unity Baptist Church for providing a wonderful meal to our staff this week! We are so grateful for the ongoing support you show our teachers, staff and students!
On Monday, we ask that you please send a note with your child to inform their homeroom teacher how they will be riding home this year. For example: Johnny will be a car rider or Sally will be a bus rider on bus T. If you do not know which bus your child will ride, please call the office today or Monday to find out their bus letter. Thank you for your time and help and we look forward to a great school year!

On the first day of school for Kindergarten Students, 1 parent can walk their kindergarten child into the building and to their class. If you would like to walk your child into school, you will need to come at 8:30. Masks are required for the parents who chose to walk their child into the school on the first day.
All other students in grades 1-5 will need to be at school by our normal times: arrival no earlier than 7:40 with the tardy bell ringing at 8:05.
On Tuesday, Kindergarten students will follow the same morning arrival procedures as all other students at DES.
Just a reminder that technology pick up for Virtual Dragon Academy K-5 Students is Thursday from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm at DES. You will come through the back car rider line to get your device and paperwork.
