DES Open House August 12th, 2021 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
Due to social distancing guidelines, you will need to come during the specific set time for your child’s grade level. Please refer to the schedule below:
5:00pm - 6:00pm - Grades Kindergarten, Second, and Fourth.
6:00pm - 7:00pm - Grades First, Third, and Fifth.
**Please note that only 1-2 adults may attend with the child in the specific grade level at the specific time.
T-Shirts will be available for sale. We will take pre-orders and money is due at the time of ordering. A picture of the design and order form is attached to this post.
We can't wait to see everyone!
Report cards can be picked up in the DES office on June 1st between the hours of 8:00-3:30.
DES 1st - 5th Grade Awards Assemblies will be Wednesday, May 26th, in the DES Gym. Each student will receive 2 tickets for entry.
5th grade- 8:15-8:45
3rd grade- 9:00-9:30
1st grade- 9:45-10:15
2nd grade- 10:30-11:00
4th grade- 11:15-11:45
Two DES students have been chosen as winners in the “Survive: Don’t Text and Drive” statewide art contest.
The annual contest highlights the dangers of texting and driving. The organization was founded by Gracie Stover and is sponsored by Lamar Sign Co.
Their artwork will be featured in a digital billboard in Pine Bluff, and each child was presented with a check for $350 to be used by their school.

Tomorrow is the FINAL DAY of ACT Aspire Testing at DES. We are so proud of how well the students have worked this week! Please help your student finish the week on a high note by eating a good dinner, getting to bed early, eating a healthy & filling breakfast in the morning & getting to school on time tomorrow. With help at home and at school, our students will be prepared to do their very best on the test!

Tomorrow begins ACT Aspire testing at DES for all 3rd - 5th Grade students. Testing will be Tuesday - Friday. Help them do their best by helping them get to bed early, eating a healthy a filling breakfast each morning and starting the day in a positive way! We know they are prepared, and it is time to show it!

Hello! This is just a friendly reminder to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade families to return your child's/children's school chromebook AND charging cord to DES. Once they return them this week, they will remain at school in their homeroom class. Note, this is only for students who are currently learning in person and not virtually. Thank you! Kinderlympics will be postponed due to the high chance of rain. It is rescheduled for Monday, April 26th at 1:30. This event is for parents of Kindergarten students only.
In preparation for testing at DES, students in 3rd Grade - 5th Grade need to permanently return their school assigned chrome book and charger. The chrome books and chargers will be kept at school. They will no longer be bringing them back and forth from home to school.
